The 2008-09 competitive season is
shaping up to be another year of growth for Collegiate Aquatics. Collegiate
greeted over 15 new swimmers prior our first official open house
registration. Swimmers from across the mid-state have elected to join the
Collegiate Aquatics program. Such growth comes about from having knowledgeable
and passionate coaches, dedicated swimmers, and supportive families. The word
has spread about our coaches' skills, our swimmers' performance, and our
parents' sportsmanship. Collegiate is a special place to be.
But our exciting growth must be
tempered with the fact that challenges face us as a team. Collegiate Aquatics
lacks a permanent home that can handle the growing number of swimmers. Several
Collegiate families have worked collaboratively with the coaches to provide
assistance for the team's growth and have determined that fundraising must be a
critical component of the team's non-competitive activities.
The annual team fees cover a major portion of the
financial obligations for Collegiate. However, there is still an amount that
each family is responsible to raise each year.
This page provides valuable fundraising information for all Collegiate families. Please refer to this page often as we strive toward meeting our fundraising goal. It will require a true TEAM effort - please take part in continuing the success!
Why is it necessary for Collegiate Aquatics families to take part in fundraising?
· As the team continues to grow, additional money is required to secure needed pool/space time. Collegiate cannot rely entirely on team fees to pay for pool time through rental agreements.
· Collegiate Aquatics lacks a permanent home and is not even able to host a "home" dual meet (the team does not earn income from concession sales or other opportunities gained by hosting meets). Money raised through fundraisers not only affords the capacity to rent pool time for the current season, it permits the team to engage in strategic planning for the development of its own facility (housing a natatorium and fitness space). Fundraising dollars are used to cover professional fees in the design and implementation for Collegiate's future home. Collegiate families' commitment towards fundraising also demonstrates are real commitment to the program which is attractive to investors in Collegiate's future facility.
The coaches and parent fundraising committee leaders recognize that raising additional money on behalf of your swimmer(s) does not come without sacrifice and commitment of time on your part. Therefore we have attempted to offer a menu of opportunities to make this as easy and as affordable as possible.
