PROFESSIONAL LIFEGUARD TRAINING

The purpose of this American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course is to provide entry-level lifeguard candidates with the skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical services (EMS) personnel arrive and take over. The program will include aquatic specific first aid and CPR training. This course is open to anyone 15 years of age or older, in sound physical condition and able to successfully complete pre-course swimming pre-requisites and the CPR and first aid classes. The Professional Lifeguard course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 27 through May 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Mechanicsburg High School Pool. Pre-course swimming skills testing will be held at the pool on Tuesday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. The cost is: early registration: Resident: $178 and Non-Resident: $188. (After March 28 the fee will increase $10. This fee includes all textbooks and supplies.
